It's apparently not even supposed to make this noise 😂 its just the sound of the brakes being left on...

I’m here because a guy on FB said he lost his cat, who watches Dr. Who with him every night before bed. So, he got the idea to drive around his neighborhood and play the TARDIS sound at night before bed. He found his cat about a km away, running towards his car. Lol Yay for TARDIS. 😄💝

Never watched doctor who but i read a post on fb that a woman found her lost cat by blasting the tardis sound on her car speakers and driving around the neighbourhood only to find her cat 1kilometer away from her house. Just had to listen what is the sound😅😅

Is nobody mentioning the fact that this is the sound people heard when The first doctor regenerates into The second doctor

I kid you not once I was in public and I heard the TARDIS landing noise, so I literally jumped so I could find the Doctor, and the person whose ringtone it was pointed at me and screamed Whovian.

These are the unsung heroes of Dr.Who, we all hear them, but subconciously dismiss them mainly to concentrate on the action. I love that eerie thrumming when the door opens and its like the Tardis is just thinking.

Truely awesome, the unsung heroes of Dr.Who, the sounds the TARDIS makes. Got me from the get go. This is the sound of the Tardis, syncing itself with our particular bit of the universe, ground breaking at the time, still gets me now and i am 83.

According to River Song, the groaning, wheezing sound is produced by the Doctor leaving the brakes on while accelerating.

It's amazing to think that since 1963, the TARDIS has had the same materialisation sound effect all the time, despite all it's many incarnations.
